Strategic Partnership for Enhanced Connectivity:

Under the visionary Direct-to-Device (D2D) strategy, e& UAE partnered with Al Yah Satellite Communications Company. 

This alliance aims to equip standard smartphones with cutting-edge satellite capabilities, eliminating bulky specialized devices traditionally required for satellite communication.

Seamless Connectivity with Low Earth Orbit System:

The collaboration between e& UAE and Yahsat focuses on leveraging Yahsat’s forthcoming low earth orbit (LEO) D2D system. 

This innovative technology promises seamless connectivity for standard smartphones, offering users unprecedented levels of accessibility and communication reliability regardless of their location.

The integration of satellite connectivity into standard smartphones will occur in phases. Voice and messaging services are expected to debut this year. 

Subsequent phases will introduce texting and Internet of Things (IoT) smartphone capabilities by 2025, facilitated through Yahsat’s geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellites.
