Joby Aviation has received financial support from the Dubai government and exclusive air taxi operation rights. The agreement also outlines a regulatory pathway for early operations, as stated in the company’s financial statement.
In collaboration with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA), Joby Aviation aims to launch air taxi services by early 2026, with initial operations potentially commencing as early as 2025.
The agreement includes various forms of support from the RTA to facilitate the entry and development of service operations in Dubai.
Joby Aviation plans to debut its air taxi services in Dubai before any other country, as Bonny Simi, the company’s president, emphasized in an interview with Bloomberg.
