UAE Residents Anticipate Five-Day Break for Eid Al Adha

After the festivities of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr, UAE residents are gearing up for the next significant Islamic holiday, Eid Al Adha.

The Islamic calendar’s lunar-based system dictates the timing of Eid Al Adha, which typically falls approximately two months after Eid Al Fitr. 

According to Sheikh Ayaz Houzee, Imam of NGS and Khateeb at Al Manar Islamic Centre, residents can expect the break to occur in the second week of June. Depending on lunar sightings, the exact dates will be assured closer to the time.

Significance of Eid Al Adha:
