Dubai Urges Continuation of Distance Learning Amid Weather Impact

Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) urges private schools, universities, and nurseries to maintain distance learning for students facing logistical challenges in the aftermath of severe weather conditions across the UAE. As facilities prepare to reopen, preventive measures are emphasized to ensure student safety.

Ongoing Impact of Record-Breaking Rainfall:

Following record-breaking rainfall, many neighborhoods in Dubai remain severely affected, with waterlogged roads and flooded houses. Disruptions in bus transport and metro services persist, complicating the return to on-site classes for educational institutions.

In response to the weather conditions, schools and educational institutions transitioned to remote learning on April 16, following directives from Dubai’s Crown Prince. The suspension of on-site classes extended through Thursday and Friday as the UAE grappled with the aftermath of the heavy rainfall.

Flexibility in Reopening Plans:

While some schools in Dubai plan to reopen on Monday, they emphasize flexibility for students unable to physically attend. 

Distance learning options will continue to be available for students facing transportation challenges, ensuring continuity in education delivery.
