The Executive Council, led by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, gathered at the Arabian Travel Market to unveil a new traffic plan focused on remote working.
The plan, driven by a comprehensive survey conducted by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), aims to alleviate congestion and enhance traffic flow by leveraging remote work and flexible hours.
The survey targeted private sector employees to understand commuting behaviors and preferences regarding remote work. The government’s strategies to address traffic concerns during rush hours will be informed by the survey’s insights.
The initiative seeks to boost employee productivity, business efficiency, and overall well-being by reducing time spent on tiring commutes. Expanded remote work options are poised to mitigate traffic congestion and improve quality of life.
The plan includes incentives for remote work participation, such as prize draws for survey completion. Additionally, it explores flexible working hours and other policies like compressed working schemes to accommodate diverse work preferences.
Alongside remote work initiatives, the plan entails developing priority public bus routes to enhance trip times significantly. Furthermore, encouraging students to utilize school transport aims to alleviate traffic congestion around educational institutions.
