Jeffrey Wright and Denzel Washington to Star in ‘High and Low’

Fresh off his Oscar nomination for best actor, Jeffrey Wright is gearing up for his next big project: starring alongside Denzel Washington in Spike Lee’s High and Low. The movie, a collaboration between Apple Original Films and A24, is set to begin production this month.

Reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s Classic:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘High and Low’ is an English reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 Japanese film. 

The original movie centered around a shoe executive caught in a corporate takeover whose plans are disrupted when his chauffeur’s son is accidentally kidnapped instead of his son.

Spike Lee, known for his iconic works such as ‘Inside Man,’ reunites with Denzel Washington for ‘High and Low.’ Lee will direct the film, which he also co-wrote with Alan Fox. 

Produced by A24, Escape Artists, and Mandalay Pictures, the project promises to bring a fresh perspective to Kurosawa’s classic tale.
