UAE Waives Five Years of Traffic Violations for Omani Citizens

In a gesture of goodwill, the United Arab Emirates announced the waiver of all traffic violations incurred by citizens of Oman over the past five years. 

This decision, aimed at fostering closer ties between the two nations, was confirmed in a brief statement released by the Emirates News Agency.

Bilateral Relations Boosted by UAE-Oman Business Forum:

The announcement follows the UAE-Oman Business Forum, a pivotal event that saw representatives from both countries convene to discuss various economic and strategic initiatives. The visit of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman further underscored the commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.

At the forum, a landmark investment partnership valued at Dhs129 billion was unveiled, spanning multiple sectors and industries. This significant collaboration signals a new era of economic synergy and mutual prosperity between the UAE and Oman.

Hareet Rail: A Joint High-Speed Rail Project:

Among the key initiatives discussed is the Hareet Rail project, a groundbreaking high-speed rail venture jointly operated by Etihad Rail and Oman Rail. 

With speeds of up to 200 kilometres per hour and capacity for 400 passengers, this ambitious project will connect Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi to the port city of Sohar in Oman, facilitating efficient transportation and trade links between the two nations.

Dubai Police’s Unusual Move Amid Record-Breaking Rainfall:

In a separate development, Dubai Police made an unprecedented decision to suspend the processing of traffic fines incurred on April 16, coinciding with the UAE’s record-breaking rainfall. 

The move aimed to alleviate the challenges faced by motorists navigating the exceptional weather conditions, which resulted in road closures and disruptions across the emirate.
